A sensor worn on the lower chest and/or abdominal area to measure movement (expansion & contraction) related to the breathing effort of subjects.
The sensing element is polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a piezoelectric film, which has the property to generate an output voltage and charge whenever there is a change of pressure/strain applied to the film.
The sensor has wires with connectors which are to be plugged into an appropriate Interface Cable which is then plugged into polysomnograph (PSG) equipment.
